Museo di Anatomia Umana (Museum of Human Anatomy) “Filippo Civinini”

The Museum of Human Anatomy “Filippo Civinini” (MAU) at the University of Pisa preserves and exhibits historic anatomical collections while also providing an invaluable resource for medical students of the university to study and deepen their knowledge of the field.

The MAU simultaneously shares the history of medical science and human anatomy with a broader audience.

What makes this museum truly remarkable is its highly effective interpretation of its complex subject matter (even if it’s simply about understanding “this is how we are made”) which can be attributed to the Director, Professor Gianfranco Natale, and his ability to tell stories, narrate, and create a tale. For whom? Not just for university students, but also for young children in primary schools!
