Echoes

ECHOES is a project developed from a research journey to China in 2009.

Through a carefully curated selection of images and texts, it explores the interplay between perception, memory, and transformation, drawing on visual anthropology, symbolic inquiry, and references to the Yijing, the Book of Changes.

Rather than documenting places or recounting experiences, ECHOES creates a space for attentive observation. The images act as perceptual tools, inviting awareness of passages, returns, and rhythms that shape human experience.

Handcrafted in a limited edition, ECHOES is designed as an object to be handled, unrolled, and consulted.
ECHOES takes the form of a set of ten printed canvas scrolls , conceived to be unfolded over time, and is available in English, French, and Italian.

It offers a reflective support for those interested in processes of transformation and in the dialogue between image and thought, gesture and meaning.

THE GAME: How ECHOES Works and How to Access the Rules

ECHOES is an exploratory game/project, built around images and texts.

The experience unfolds through three ways of working with the scrolls:

  • Cyclical reading, attuned to the natural rhythm of transitions;
  • Synchronistic reading, attentive to the message of the moment;
  • Linear reading, following a path of exploration and return.

You may encounter ECHOES in different ways:
in a bookshop, as a gift, during a presentation of the project, or through someone else who has already played with it.
However ECHOES comes to you, the experience develops through athrough a direct exchange with its initiator.

The rules of the game are not publicly available. They are shared upon request, following the first encounter with ECHOES, through a direct written exchange with its initiators, and are available in Italian, French, and English.
This moment of contact is part of the project itself and reflects its relational nature rather than an automated process.

Engaging with ECHOES means entering an active relationship with the object and exploring its possibilities over time.

DIRECT CONTACT – Get in Touch
To receive the rules of the game, learn more about the project, or share an experience related to ECHOES, you are welcome to write directly to:

anthropos@khonsuphotos.com

The ECHOES experience may include a brief written exchange by email, conceived as a continuation of the project itself:
a space for resonance and reflection linked to the use of the rolls.
This is neither a consultation nor a personal development program, but a correspondence grounded in the research that underpins the ECHOES project.
